On April 20, 2017, Paula Rieder was recognized at the WPS Volunteer Awards breakfast with the Schneider National Foundation – Volunteer Leadership Award.  The Volunteer Center then submitted Paula's name for the Wisconsin Heroes Award sponsored by the State of Wisconsin. Paula was chosen as one of the recipients, and on December 15, 2017, former First Lady Tonette Walker presented the Wisconsin Heroes award to Paula at a private gathering of family, friends and colleagues at St. Norbert Abbey.
